The Girl in Peckham & Kowloon

Khumo Matthews

I would like to remind Southwark that Mr Masood Hussan’s April 2023 letter informed me that Agnes of No 3 did not want to engage with me further or she would regard that as harassment, however, she continues to allow No 3 resident's and No 3’s associates to bother, disrespect, mock and harass me.

For that reason, I request a further reasonable adjustment, pursuant to the Equality Act 2010, Section 20 and my entitlement to reasonable adjustment due to my disability. I request, yet again, that I am put up in a safe house until Southwark takes responsibility for it's inappropriate direct offer of 4 Nicholson House and I in a safe home.

After 16.00HR I came home after working in library and found this grey drape across the entrance to my home and on my plants.

As I am pretty fed up of the harassment, and because I was concerned about ants coming in from both my front and back door and had just bought ant powder, I ignored the drape and set about applying ant powder even if that meant standing on the drape. Once I had done the other door and had a cup of tea, I removed the drape and put it by the disposal unit.

17 Aug 2023 racial harassment

I regard the following as an organised event to disrespect and mock me and create fear in me (i.e. racial harassment of me)

Around 21.54HR, lots of children outside by the benches at low volume. Quite a few No 3 adults and or by association and no 3 friends talking outside of No 3, which is inevitably in front of my home and which they are aware of.

No 3 adult voices quickly raised in volume which I have learned is usually deliberate and then I saw several adults, plus females, contrive to lean or look over into my front garden wall, in order to raise my anxiety level. That’s really unpleasant. I’m very unhappy about it. Would you like to be disrespected and mocked when you live alone, are 65 years old and have a hidden disability? No 3 are fully aware of this and also that I am mixed race and was brought up in poverty.

So, I photographed them from my kitchen window. I was nervous and unhappy. They moved away pretty quickly. I was too nervous to video the people outside of my door as there has been a muscular man staying there recently. It is all like living at Aberfeldy House really, except the perpetrators are not white this time; they are black. And it’s worse due to the proximity of No 3 and because the Southwark direct offer was a vastly inappropriate one, which may even have been intentional.

22.48HR People noise still going on with loud adult voices off and on. I think they moved into East Street, which became noisier and filtered back.

As I left my home in the morning, I noticed the litter generated by No 3 and their associates.

I do not offer my home up as a drinking venue or open litter bin.
